Class Schedule

Cooking Classes offer hands-on opportunities to learn new skills or build upon existing expertise.

We have a state-of-the-art kitchen utilized by local professional chefs, to facilitate a wide variety of hands-on participation classes. Our classes provide customers with an opportunity in today's fast paced society to invest a small amount of time, just two hours, to learn something new to impress their friends the next time they entertain. Professioinal chefs teach the classes which focus on new methods, tips and techniques. Since our classes are hands-on, we limit the seats to 12 participants, so that you may receive individual attention from the Chef.

We offer classes for different skill levels.  Anyone may attend our Beginner Skill Level classes.  See guidelines below.

Beginner - Just like it sounds, if you are a novice cook and want to learn a lot in a short period of time, our classes are for you.  We suggest our "Knife Skills with Culinary Basics" as a very good place to start, but you may register for any Beginner skill level class that sounds interesting to you!

Intermediate - If you've been your family's primary cook for many years, you qualify!  You should know how to slice, dice, mince, julienne, puree, blanch, sauté, fry, bake, roast, thicken a sauce, and sear.  If you feel uncertain about your qualifications, we recommend taking our "Knife Skills with Culinary Basics" class plus 3 of our Beginner classes before moving on to this class level.

Advanced
- If you are an experienced cook and have attended at least three (3) Beginner and two (2) Intermediate classes at Cooking Uptown, you qualify! Skills should include butchering a chicken, cleaning and preparing fish, kneading dough, and using a culinary torch.
